I have sound probs in VirtualDub 1.4.7

I'm trying to split a divX movie into two parts. I select the start offset at the beginning and the end offset in the middle (at a key frame) I save it and when I play it nothing is wrong... -> It works perfectly.

Here's the problem: I then try to save that last part of the movie using the same procedure as described above, but when I play it the sound is missing entirely!!! Why?

Don't know if this is useful:
When I check "perf" in the status window I can see that

    "Audio streeming enabled NO"

    Plz help

I'm guessing that this .AVI is a file that you've downloaded (as opposed to one that you've created). If so, it is possible that it isn't properly multiplexed.

    Load the file into VirtualDub.
Save the audio as a .WAV file.
Change the Audio file setting to "No Audio"
Change the Video setting to "Direct Stream Copying".
Save the video with a new name.
    Exit VirtualDub.
    Run VirtualDub anew.
    Load the new .AVI file.
    Load the .WAV file
Change the Video setting to "Direct Stream Copying".
Save the file with yet another new name.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

Thanks for the help... That got me rid of that problem..

      But here's another one.
Once I've saved the files and checked them in a media-player, I want to burn it out on CD as a VCD so I can play it on my dvd player. The first 7-10 mins are ok, but after that the movie becomes all distorted - it's hard to explain, but it's like the resolution goes low every other sec or so... Any ideas on how to fix that?
I use NERO 5.5.6.4 Demo to burn and convert.

        My pleasure.

Regarding your new question, I'm afraid I don't have a clue. It almost sounds like the file has some sort of copy protection (Macrovision for a pirated movie file - wouldn't that be ironic!)

Tnx anyway... I think I'll try find a different decoder or perhaps another divX.

Re: I have sound probs in VirtualDub 1.4.7

I was having the same problem. Am a newbie. What I did to resolve though was:
              1) The first split
              2) I closed the program. (virtualDub)
              3) Started the program again.
              4) Made the second split.

              It seems to work.
