Curious about VirtualDub

I know that there were previous verisons of VirtualDub that supported ASF, but I was just curious if there ever was a version that supported WMV also?

WMV (particularly v.7) is essentially just another version of ASF...

I had a feeling they were related...just didn't want to assume anything ....But if that is the case, how come it seems I can't load wmv into VirtualDub? Is it because when this 'v.7' came out VirtualDub stopped making versions that can edit ASF?

Try using VirtualDub v.1.3C or earlier (Although I'm fairly certain that it won't process WMV v.8 files)...

I tried using 1.2 and 1.3c they both say that they can't find a decompressor for "WMV2". I'm guessing that this means that "WMV2" is a fairly new format...right?
(Note: all the .asf extension files I have no problem editing with VirtualDub1.4c or earlier)

Yessir - That's the new format that arrived as part of the WMV8 package...
