In addition nandub is restricted to only encode with divx3.11, or M$ MP4v2.
In short nandub is good for only a few things. Like encoding with divx3.11/MP4v2, muxing vbr/ac3 audio into an existing video, or cutting an avi that has vbr or ac3 audio.Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

i havent found much use of virtualdub except playing files that are bad. *virtualdub should have a fullscreen option.* can you tell me if there are any articles about how to use vdub or nandub.

Virtualdub was never intended to be used as a player.
This document from doom9 explains a number of different procedures that can be use in virtualdub, to accomplish various tasks.Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

I think that somebody should make a nice player that is lightweight, and specializes in DVD, divx, xvid, vcd... you get the point. that would be really handy.Comment

A light player that is specialiced for all sorts of formats yeah right, I would like a fast and large car that is really really fuel efficient.
Anyways the reason you might sometimes be able to view a file with virtualdub, and not with other players, is that virtualdub uses a VFW decoder while all players (execpt the DivX player) uses DirectShow.
This is usually indicates that your system is misconfigured.Last edited by khp; 23 Jan 2003, 06:01 PM.Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

Compact, do-it-all player
Apologies: This should've been a reply to NanDub vs VDub thread, but I hit the wrong button
Well I think that microDVD 1.2 is the dux nutz in this category, small [2.5MB, minus skinz etc] and can play anything WMP can play. You can even run it directly from a CD containing a DivX, which is great for distro.
From the documentation:
- The main movie may be any audio/video file type playable by the Windows Media Player.
- "Emulate" original DVD Navigation Menu.
- Play Special Features: Often DVDs offer additional videos containing "making-of" or similar background information.
- Display Subtitles [as text overlay, not BMP]
- Play Multi Language.
- High Comfort: To give you all the comfort you want when watching MDVDs, the player's user interface has a similar structure than that of the popular software DVD player tool PowerDVD. Most of PDVD's features are available, plus some more.
