Only sound but no picture in AVI

I can hear the sound from a movie in avi file but do not see any picture. The realplayer screen says "Unable to render video; DIV3 Decompresser not found".

I have been pointed to this website, apparently because DIV can help solve the problem, is this true? Can anyone help?

You have to download and install the DivX v.3.11alpha codec. You'll find it by clicking on the DivX Digest (NOT DVD Digest) link at the top of this page.

By the way, Windows Media Player does a better job than RealPlayer of presenting DivX-compressed .AVI videos...
