FlaskMPEG error when triying to encode.

    bdwalewski@sympatico.ca

Hello, I have problem w Flask software, I am using version 0, 7, 8, 39, because I had too many problems with version 6. This program worked for me well (I have converted about twenty DVD's to DIVX), however for the last two days I am unable to make this program work for me. I am getting errors: Flaskmpeg has caused an error in FLASKMPEG.exe, or Flaskmpeg has caused an error in SSE.2IDCT.FLASK or DIVX.DLL. If I try few times the program will start, and will start convert but after about 5 min. I will get "Flaskmpeg has caused an error in FLASKMPEG.EXE. File created will be unreadable as DIVX. If I convert, same movie will stop at this same moment – size of the file 112 mb (tried five times). If I try another file, I will get same error, and conversion will stop at this same place, only file size will be different – in my case 96 mb.

    I have tried:

Removed and reinstalled Flask – no change

Removed all software from your bundle including DIVX, reinstalled all again – no change

I have checked registration files and I have found Flask entry and removed it, but no change.

    I have Windows Me, Pentium IV 1.7 MHz, HD C – 60GB, HD D – 120 GB.

Note: I have notice that I have problem to change destination folder in Flask from C:\flaskout to something else When I try that program give me error with SSE.2IDCT.FLASK or simply program quits on me.

Can anyone help me with this issues, at this point I think I have tried everything.

    Thanks Derek

"Removed and reinstalled Flask – no change"

If you presently have Flask on your C:\ drive, try installing it on your D:\ drive...

A few suggestions to try out:

      1. Try encoding without sound processing
      2. Try encoding with a different movie
      3. Try using GordianKnot instead

        Hi,
I have removed Flask 0.7.8 from the drive C,
I have removed all entries of the program from registry,
I have defragmenter my HD C,
I have installed newest software for my graphic card (64 mb GeForce 3 – updated drivers),
Installed Flask on my drive D,
Tried to make DIVX from DVD (Ice Age – ripped with DVD Decrypter),

        Result

Same as before, Flask works for about 10 minutes or until 14% of the movie then I get error: Flaskmpeg has caused an error in FLASKMPEG.EXE. File I get is 112 mb and is not readable as DIVX. Software stops always at this same point. (Six times).

I have tried different movie and all was same except resulting file was 96 mb.

From this point, I do not know what to do, any suggestions, except ones suggesting different software, please.

        Derek

          1) Have you tried using the older, far more stable, version 0.594PX3?

          2) Or, the very simple to use (but quite good) MPEG Mediator?

O.K. I have tried other programs, and I get same problem, program quits. Therefore I think that it is a problem with something else than Flask. I think that my problems began after installing VOB Instant Write, now known as Pinnacle Instant Write. This is software enabling you to use CD or DVD burner as HD. I have removed this software but problem persist. I have also removed DIVX 5, DVD Decrypter, and Flask. Do you people have any suggestions?

Did that, now I have DIVX 5.03 Pro. Must be something else.

                  Problem solved

Hi, I have fixed my problem with flask. It looks like my Windows Me files got corrupted.
                  Msvideo.dll
                  Mciavi.drv
                  Dciman.dll
After reinstalling files, I had removed Flaskmpeg 0.78 and reinstalled Flaskmpeg 0.6. Now I'm back with old problems, that some films loose subtitles.
I know that version .078 was better with subtitles, therefore can you guys tell me how properly upgrade from .06 to 0.78?
Version .06 have self install but .078 doesn't.

                  Thanks in advance
                  Derek
