    Raising priority doesn't do anything except rape your CPU.

    I'm not sure how this affects duals, but on a single, if you leave it at normal and aren't playing doom3/Unreal2 while encoding in the background, you're getting your max fps. Setting it and higher gives you 2 fps more (if you're lucky) and makes everything slow as you could imagine.

      My memory is 1536mb PC1600 DDR ECC SDRAM
      2- 512 chips and 2-256 Modules

      About Linux I think I am going to learn a little more about it before I make any changes

      About the CPU priority Get VirtualDub start encoding and set it on it's highest rating. The only one it won't choke up is my server

        with linux, you can raise it even higher, because the program it giving it a higher priority, and you can make it 32X better, without much slugginess. If they have the priority, then why would they make one that would clog up a 3.6Ghz system?

          I dunno about the virtualdub but I do know my SDRAM cost me 1250 USD!! That was a hurting on the pocket but well worth it It can be expaned to 4 GB!!
