DVD2AVI makes a bad AC3 file

Hi, I really need some help. I'm using Gordian Knot 0.27, and though I've had success in the past, whenever I use DVD2AVI (1.76 or 1.77), and after following all the steps and finally choosing "Save Project," the resulting AC3 file is only ~690 MB, whereas it should be somewhere between 1.5-2.0 gigs. I have tried to do "Save Project" a million times, but I keep getting the same result. I used Smartripper to rip the DVD, but I had the same problem when using DVD Decryptor as well. I'd really really appreciate some insight into the problem. Thanx
