[Search] tool to reduce noise in mp3/divx

cant find a tool to reduce the noise in divx files with mp3 sound.

do i really need to extract the audio from the divx to fix it?
would take much time to extract-fix-reinsert audio just to reduce the noise...

would be nice if someone could help me..

saving wav (that how vd calls it) takes some 2-5 minutes.

opening it with any sound-editing tool and changing it within wavelab/cooldeit etc. will take just as long as anywhere else (or less).

re-muxing it to your video-stream will take another 5 min or so.

in the end, it should be some 10 minutes additional time, which i personally wouldnt consider tooooo much time for an improved movie/sound file.

need still help..

tryed it like uncasms advised me (had in mind to do it like this before)
but i got a little problem:

the extracted .wav file is 34mb.
if i edit it with a sound-editing tool (sound forge, nero wave) simple tasks like noise gate need 10-15 minutes and more.
and if i save the file (doesnt matter if wav or mp3) the file is about 500mb...
(thats why the tasks take so long i think)

maybe the wav file extracted from virtuadub is really a mp3 file and compressed and the sound-tools decompress this file when its opened.
but that wouldnt make it 500mb... or what?

your sound stream must be an mp3, otherwise it wouldnt be THAT small.

when editing this mp3 in a soundeditor like wavelab, it will be uncompressed.

BUT, you said you DID re-compress/encode it back to mp3 again, which cannot have succeeded.
the final size of 500+mb cant be an mp3 compressed file.

you must be doing something wrong with saving the sound file!

give us some more details on how you do all this.
