    software for muxing?

I have an audio-only .mpa file that I need to mux to a video-only .avi file.

Can I use VirtualDub to do the muxing?

If yes, how (as I cannot find out how through its help file)?

If no, which software can I use?

I would prefer freeware/shareware that can work with the widest range of formats.

    Thanks for any help.

You may wish to first convert the .MPA audiostream to a more conventional (for .AVI) .MP3 format. You can easily accomplish this with an audio editing program such as GoldWave or CoolEdit...

UncasMS, I don't quite follow you. Can you be a little more explicit? (like loading the video file by File > Open Video File, then load audio file by ..., then choose option ..., then ... ) I'm a beginner here

i was referring to a special version of virtualdub (just in case you were familiar with older versions) by the name of virtualdubMOD

in this version you will find the option to add/deactivate sound streams via the menue STREAMS

          load your avi first
next go to streams, then streamlist
          there you'll find the add-button
