Trying hard to get V-Dub to work with .mpeg

    Hi,

It's probably one of those ("go figure") questions but I cannot
find the right way to set up files or to "Fake" them as you say
in order to use V-Dub as a frameserver with .mpeg files. It keeps
telling me "MPEG Import Filter: pack synch error". I guessed as
much as to VD doesn't like me inputing a mpeg file, but if I shall
use VD as a tool to frameserve and delete bad frames etc. How
do I set it up. I have VFAPI Converter but it doesn't convert the
files I have. What (please) what am I doing rong ?

I have "Installed handler" i VD
    I Have "Proxon.reg" as well

I am trying to synch the sound cus after I converted my AVI to
mpeg2 using TMPGEnc the sound in that file is slightly off ?

    I feel stupid

    Thanks pals
    Nick

    1) The standard VirtualDub cannot process MPEG-2 files for input. Try using VirtualDubMOD instead

    2) "I am trying to synch the sound cus after I converted my AVI to
mpeg2 using TMPGEnc the sound in that file is slightly off ?"

    A) Load the MPEG-2 file into TMPGEnc's main window
    B) From under the "Advanced" tab, select "Source range" (put a checkmark next to it and then doubleclick on the words "Source range'
    C) Enter the appropriate number (positive or negative) of milleseconds (thousandths of a second) next to "Audio gap correct"
    D) Click on "OK" for each of the two non-primary windows
    E) Save with a new filename

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      Thanks Setarip you're an

Loaded the .avi back into TPMGEnc and set -1200 msec.
that did the trick. Very nice indeed.
I'll take a look at VirtualDubMod and see if I understand that
      better. Thanks for the tip.

One more Q if you don't mind. Is there anyway of getting down
the size of the .mpeg file that I created in TPMGEnc ? I mean
before I chop it up. You see from a 715 meg .avi I get 1,7 GB
.mpeg2 file and it's just "slightly over the top" in order to fit on
      2 CD's. ?
