Bitrate/Overall size Problem with FlaskMPEG v0.594 using DivX;-)

I am using ''FlaskMPEG v.0.594'' and ''DivX 3.11alpha''. When I calcualte the bitrate for a movie I use ''Advanced Bitrate Calculator 1.5'' When I do it for one CD (normally around 900Kbps) the overall size is quite accurate 600-700MB but when I try to calcualte a bitrate for 2 Cds (normally around 1500Kbps) I get an output of files around 400MB big with like 500Kbps Bitrate when I wanted a file around 1400MB with a much larger bitrate!

Does anyone know what i am doing wrong??.....

    Thanks alot

    Sam

Try more recent codecs and use 2-pass encoding mode.

You should be able to get more accurate filesize prediction.

      Thanks

      Thanks
I am now trying Gordian Knot with DivX 5.1, 2 pass mode, hope I get a good looking DivX Movie.

      Advise to anyone:

Gordian knot is alot faster than Flask MPEG and is not much harder to use, there are loads of good Gordian Knot guides at Digital-Digest.com. I first used Flask because i thought Gkot was too hard to use but its not!

you dont even have to leave this forum:

Talk about the AVI file container, and the Divx/Xvid codecs that are most commonly found in AVI files

        i personally prefer DVX though:

          SaaaaM,

Glad to see that there are still people willing to try out better things out there. You won't believe how much difficulty I have had in convincing people that Flask is simply no good (hence why I did not bother with telling you to go with GK or DVX).

          Cheers.
