    VirtualDubMod error

    Hi!

When I try to encode VOB file with ac3 strem inside VDMod 1.5.10.1 (latest bugfix release) it gives me that there is no ac3 decompressor found when I save AVI.
That doesn't happend vith version 1.5.4.1

Is it a bug in VDMod?
    Have anybody the same problem?

Have you loaded an ac3 codec yet? It isn't installed with VDubMod.
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

I do not need to load nothing. I have PowerDVD 5 on my computer. Version 1.5.4.1 of VDMod is working perfectly for encoding VOB, decompressing ac3 and then compressing to mp3...
But VDMod 1.5.10.1 dont. It says that there is no decompressor for ac3.
I am switching back to version 1.5.4.1 for now.
      What next to do?

        It says:
"No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format."

        Any idea's?

If you don't mind using other software, DVD2AVI can extract the AC3 file from the VOBS and then you can use BeSweet to encode it to MP3.

I will use other software since this obviousli doesn't work.
I'm using DVD2AVI allready but I like VDMod more.
I hope if it is a bug that they will fix it.

You should head over to Virtualdub.org and report this problem, see what the author was to say about this.

                Silly me.

I missed a line in change log:

                - Removed internal AC3 decompressing since fccHandler made an ACM codec for AC3.

So now the latest version of VirtualdubMod (and perhaps future) doesn't have internal ac3 decompressing anymore.

So if anybody need this codec for use in VDMod or regular VirtualDub get it here:

                Thanks for answers!
