    Avi Files

Have downloaded several AVI files that were NTSC 720x480 files. While I could check this info before I downloaded them upon using TMPGEnc I found out that (5 hours later) that they were 14fps instead of the needed 29.7 fps. They were not DVD compatible- as far as I know. Is there anyway to check this needed info before I spend a lot of time? Thanks.

Load the AVI into a program called VirtualDubMod–it's free. Go to "File" and select "File Information". this will give you information on the video stream as well as the audio stream.
