Audio skips and drops out

I am trying to append the two movies using Nandub and I got an error and followed the instructions on this thread:

Once I save the new .avi I get skippy audio and then it drops out completely. While following the instructions in that link I choose a rate for conversion, but I leave it alone for compression, although I did try with a Windows audio compression, and it did the exact same thing. What should I do?

EDIT Tried with Divx audio too, no luck. I opened the file in GSPot and it said that it was MPEG3 audio at 149/48000 with74ch. stereo. I couldnt find those exact settings in nanDub so I set it to MPEG3 128/48000 stereo 8 bit. No luck...
