graphedit - no filters?

I'm trying to use graphedit for the first time, and when i go to "insert filters", nothing happens! what am I doing wrong?

WHAT did you want to achieve using graphedit?

there are several tools for similar/identical routines.
maybe there's an easier way for whatever you want to do!?
