burning multiple tv episodes to one dvd+r

I need a little help. I have toyed with numerous programs with little luck. I need to put more than one episode of a tv show onto 1 dvd. I converted an .avi that was about 300mb to mpeg-2 and now it is 2.76gb. So what i need to do is make the mpeg-2 smaller so i can put more on a dvd.

I have tmpgenc author and plus as well as dvd2one. So if i could use these programs it would be great--- but if not thats fine as well.

If anyone could help me out with this it would be greatly appriciated!!!!!!!!!!

Check to see what the resolution of your avi is. You could use 1/2 D1 (352x480) with a lower bitrate which will result in a smaller mpeg file.

Lets say i use WinAvi to convert the .avi into dvd format (.vob etc.) Then will i be able to compress the dvd format file with a compression program? and if so what program would work.

If you make the compliant dvd files in the VIDEO_TS folder then you can use Dvdshrink to compress the video to fit on one blank dvd.
