I am tracking an unusual error that has started popping up on my system.
This normally occurs with WMP 10 but has also happened with Windows Explorer.
During normal playback of video files when a clip segment end has been reached and before switching to the next clip the XP error message appears. Checking details returns this:
Faulting application wmplayer.exe, version 10.0.0.3646, faulting module mplvw7.dll, version 1.0.0.3, fault address 0x0001c154.
This started shortly after installing Ace Mega Codec 6.01 Pro, Media Player Classic (0.8.1) from vlc AND DivXPro 5.21, so I'm not sure who the culprit is. Uninstalling everything is going to be a major pain so before I resort to Scortched Earth tactics I'm searching for a work-around.
Some background info:
the dll listed above is part of WMP but is mfgd by a company called Ligos. Very little information about this dll is available and nobody has anything in their KB's that addresses that file.
A google search turns up some stuff, but the error reported is different.
I located a known issue with DivX and XP SP2 and have tried the fix but it did not cure the problem.
Has anyone got any ideas about what may be done to fix this? Or even find some reliable information? The error is not system crashing, just annoying as hell. I would speculate to place the blame on the Ace pack but I can't read Hungarian so their main website is of no help.
Again, the crash is not critical but I would like to see it gone. If anyone has any ideas about how I might pinpoint the source without uninstalling and burning codecs out of my system, I would welcome the input.
Thanks to All
