VirtualDub + DivX 5 Pro -> Abnormal Program Termination

Using VirtualDub 1.4.9 & divX 5 Pro (with ads) codec, I'm trying to encode DV (MainConcept DV codec) into divX using the 2-pass process. The 1st job finishes OK, but I get an
'Abnormal program termination' at the beginning of the 2nd job.

I have a crashinfo file available, and it says something about 'access violation'...

I'm running Win98SE on Athlon 1GHz. Since I'm a newbie, please help & explain in 'newbie terms'... TIA!

You are using job-list processing right ?.
I think this is caused by vdub failing to automatically set the codec settings correctly for the second job.
I have have the same problem with xvid, but not with divx5. But I am using vdub 1.4.8 so maybe that will work for you too.
Otherwise you will have to give up using job processing and let the first job finish before setting up the second.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

Thank you! Indeed, I was using the job list - simply because that's how it was described in the article on divX5 - I'm too new to this to navigate in VirtualDub on my own...

I'll try both of your suggestions. Thanks again!
