Everything is better than flask. I use nandub with M$MPEG4V2. DVDx is also a goiod choice.

Nandub is a videoeditor/encoder based on VirtualDUB. It allowes to use the DivX3.11-codec or Microsofts original MPEG4V2-codec in two-pass-mode. The original MPEG4V2-codec seems to be a little bit better than the hacked DivX3.11.

            M$MPEG4V2
Been wondering where I can find it. Do I need to install it or is it automatically installed with Windows? Also, will 3.11 need to be removed in order for this codec to work?

I did ask this question before but I've lost the answer. Thanks.

Comes with WinXP or you can download from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download in a package and you no need uninstall divx 3.11 to Mpeg4 V2 works, the 2 codecs coexist perfectly.
              Greetings.

How about with Codec 5 ?
Any special software to work with this one ?

And is there any reason to prefere codec 4.x to codec x ? Newer is better isn't it ?

Not necessarily. I prefer 3.11. The newer DivX, being a completely different codec (in terms of software engineering), has simply been given the numbering 4 and 5 to make it look newer (correct) and better (yeah right!) than 3.11.
