Looking for a .avi software.

Hi, let's see if you can help me. I'm looking for a software to cut some parts of avi, use some transitions and save with the same format(.avi), i don't wanna re-encode, i'm using VirtualDub but it doesn't have transitions.

For .mpg i'm using Mpeg Video Wizard, it's perfect to edit mpg files, the problem with .avi and MVW is that i have to re-encode to finish the job.

If you can help me , pls write.

as soon as editing (or better using effects) comes into play you will have to *re-encode* or save as uncompressed avi, which you wouldn't want to do

cutting can be done without recompression but anything else will not work the way you want it to

yes UncasMS, the transitions area will have to be re-encode but no the entire file, Mpeg Video Wizard makes this, when i'm saving and the soft find a transition area, it slowdown(re-encoding), but when it reach a area not edited, the process is fast. I want to find this kind of program because my machine is not fasssst.

look what i want to do:

divx file-------> edit(cut and insert transitions)----------> divx file
