what converter is best for avi to mpeg????

what converter is best ive tried avi2vcd but it just takes to damn long and i tried tmpeg but i always get some pink or red blocks in there i tried evrything to remove them but no good is there any other converter out there that dosent take so long in converting and the output looks the same as the input?

Visit vcdhelp.com I believe those pink lines may have something to do with interlacing/de-interlacing. You may want to enable de-interlacing.
