Cant back up Casino

Hi everyone!

Im going crazy...
I'd like to back up the movie Casino (UK version)... note that the original movie works perfectly on my laptop

I didnt have any problems to use DVD Shrink, the movie was being compressed properly.. I tried to burn it with Nero: once again, no problem... but when I tried to open the DVD with WinDVD: impossible: my screen just froze, without any error message...I couldnt do anything but eject the CD
I then installed DVD43, started all over again... same problem

I then tried to rip the movie with DVD Decrypter, then use DVD Shrink to compress it, then burn it again... same problem

Each time I used DVD shrink, I decided to delete some languages (you know, like finish, turkish....) as the original DVD is bigger then 4,7GB (something like 8MB...)

4 DVD's gone for nothing.. argggggg

Do you have any idea on what is going on??? thanks for your help, I thought I could handle ripping DVD, but obviously no

Try playing it with Media Player Classic - see link in my signature. Before you redo it again, see if it plays in a standalone DVD player. If not, post your burning log - it is located in C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory.log

I tried with WMP, Real and even Quicktime... the warning about piracy appears on the screen, and then suddenly the computer is blocked.. I can hear the cd trying to do something, but its as if something was missing on the cd to pass to the next chapter...

As I said, try media player classic. Again, does it play in a regular DVD player???

everything your doing with shrink seems alright. i say back it up to your hard drive, burn to a disc with nero MANUALLY. (don't enable burning with nero in shrink). like blutach mentioned, when it's done play it back from your PC with media player classic, then go from there. there's several burn logs in your attachment, cd-r's, dvd's etc. post only the right log next time please

Right - buried in the MP3 burns there's a few DVD burns.

Read and implement



In particular:

1. Update Nero - http://www.nero.com/en/nero-up.php
2. Throw out those crappy CMC disks and get something decent like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Cheapest is crappiest.
3. Update firmware to 1.11 - see http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2071
4. Slow the burn to 4x max

I dont have time to give it a try now.... but ill try on monday
I couldnt check on a regular DVD player, as I dont have one! But I'll try tonight at my friend's
And yes I tried with WMP classic...
