I have a .wmv file that I want to edit but I know that you can't do that with Virtual Dub using that extension. Does any one know how I can change the header so that I can or maybe another program that will accept this format for editing uses.

Use the WMV8EUTIL.EXE with the WMV8 GUI... -
I downloaded the program like you said, but there is something I don't get. How is it that the output path is an 'Open' function and not a 'Save as' function? How am I supposed to make a .wmv file into an .avi formatted file like that?

I am not aware of any presently existing software that will convert a WMV (presumably v.8) file to AVI format...Comment

Sorry about that. I don't think I'm ever good at expressing my thoughts clearly, but I thank you anyway. I'm going to try and edit it the way you suggested, without changing the format, for now. It's better than doing nothing. Thanks again.
