Looking for software to convert audio only of divx/xvid

I have a whole lot of xvid and divx files which are encoded with AC3 audio.

however i have a media streamer that doesnt handle it too well. (causes images to become jerky)

Is there a program that will allow me to batch convert just the audio of my files to mp3? i.e. leave the Video stream untouched

    Any help would be awesome

virtualdubmod should be able to help and make sure to have a decent ac3 codec installed

    - load the avi
(when asked if vdmod should change anything because of vbr [which shouldnt occur in your case but as a general advice] say NO)

    - set video to DIRECT stream (in order to leave it untouched)!!!

    - go to streams, stream list, rightclick on the audio stream and set it to FULL processing and then rightclick again and use COMPRESSION and choose your mp3 settings and leave this menu with OK

    - go to files => save as

    - choose target directory and name AND tick the box that says: dont run this job now; add it to job control

this will let you open the next avi and procede with your settings

    - finally press F4 (or files => job control) and start your batch

Alternatively do a Direct stream using Vdubmod for your AC3 audio and save as .ac3 file, then put them through AC3fix (to correct header problem) and convert using HeadAC3he.

Please note, that you can use our release of VirtualDubMod

and preserve the 5.1 sound from AC3. This means that
you will have no more problems with streaming.
If your system is stereo, you will be able to listen to stereo sounds,
but when you decide to purchase a 5.1 speaker set, by just click
of the button you will be able to decode the stream to full surround (5.1).
And instead of stereo 128 kbps use Aud-X STDQ (standard quality)
128 kbps (very good quality surround).

Aud-X codec is (free) available from:
