    Help please

While trying to record a movie of 1hr 20 m with virtual dub 1.4 after about 10 minutes it hangs. Ive got a pentium 3 with 512mb ram 1ghz and geeforce2 mx 400,what am i doing wrong? I choose divx compression slow motin 20fps and 640 x 480 format.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Try setting your vdub priority no higher than normal, or idle.

You will see the priority thread in the vdub status window that appears when encoding starts.

i would NOT encode into divx directly!

using mjpeg picvideo2 is a much better choice imho to capture the stream, afterwards convert this file into anything you prefer.
