    divx 5.02 problem

I just recently installed divx 5.02 and I've had some problems playing .avi's with it. With window's media player there is a constant flashing green image every other frame. It's very odd. When I play an avi out of divx playa, there is no flashing green light. I know, I can't figure it out. Has anyone had this problem? What do I do to fix this?

    when does the flashing occur?

when playing back movies with codecs other than divx5 (i.e. 3 or 4) or when moving forward in your video?

flashing is happening while moving forward. It's constantly happening, a couple times a second.

using 5.02 i havent experienced this in wmp (or any other player i'm using: bsplayer + powerdivx).

are you sure you're NOT playing divx3 formats through divx5?
maybe installing divx3/4 might help in case the avis were not divx5!?

i have experienced the same typ of prob, but less serious. After encoding, the playback in wmp has green blocks, that i cannot get rid of. It just happens. It must be the codec. U could tell DivXNetworks, but their pretty useless as i gave them advice, but they never listened.

          U could use DivX3.11

i'm sorry i have no idea what your actual problem might be.
all i can say is this.

i had tsunamis filterpack installed (and still have of course) with divx3 and 4 and ms codecs.
for the gordianknot 0.26 beta+divx 5.02 test i instaleld divx5 PRO the way it was suggested (to skip GAIN) at doom9's.

and i have no problems with playback at all.

you dont by chance have ONLY divx5 installed???
if so, install divx3.11 or a filterpack.

Unless you have any specific movies encodec in divx 5.0x, uninstall and it return to divx 3.11 alpha. I've had a bad experience with codecs, starting when I installed divx 4.12, I usually wait for reviews from other users, and unless there is any benifit, I don't install new codecs.
