    Which iDCT?

as title, which is best, because the one xmpeg chose for me is well slow, i only get around 15fps, whereas in DVD2AVI i get around 40fps, i assume this is why, if there is a different reason (not the iDCT) please tell me, i like xmpeg because i can set up a two pass with audio and go away for a bit, it's just soooooo slow

MMX should be the way to go. If you can find what is most appropriate for your CPU (eg, SSE for AthlonXP/PIII, SSE2 for P4, etc.), that is fine as well. For most cases, MMX should work fine though.

idct makes no difference cos i read on the forums somebody tested it out, and founf no difference. i think it was uncasms/doom9. i'n not sure

the difference in speed is cos dvd2avi is more efficient and xmpeg is not, and its based on flaskmpeg, which is notorious 4 having bugs and being really slow
