Can't multiplex DivX 5 Pro using Virtual Dub...

I'm using Win2k Pro, Xmpeg 4.2b(for ripping video and extrac audio to WAV),CoolEdit 2000, but when i used Virtual Dub, Nandub or any similar software to multiplex my AVI and WAV together Virtual Dub hangs while processing but the timer goes on until insane ETA's(3, 6 and even 7 hours left)and never completes the job...what is happening?. My video file alone plays OK in WMP and DivX Player 2.0...it's so confusing...is any multiplexing software out there reliable to do this?.
Note:WAV audio is 44100 Hz, using FHG Radium CODEC at 128 Kbps, and DivX 5.0 Pro Bundle(well installed)..

My guess would be that, video is still set to full processing mode in virtualdub, and you haven't set any compression, this will cause vdub to produce uncompressed video output. Which of course fills up your HD.

Set video to direct stream copy and everything should be fine.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

Assuming you are telling VD to process the wav file into MP3 as well, it is likely that the process has killed itelf there. I had one such problem before (still beats me what caused it though), and because of that, I have turned to other stand-alone MP3 encoders. Hence, I use nandub to mux the AVI video and MP3 (No more .wav) audio together. If this applies to you as well, I'd suggest separately processing the audio separately and use Virtual/nandub exclusively for muxing audio and video only.
