well, the cce basic is good value for money - after all its speed is unrivalled

BUT... hank315's encoder HC ENC is total freeware and does a superb job

so if you ask me that's most definitely the best value for *money* ^_~

of course encoders like quenc, nuenc, freeenc are fine as well

i personally havent used cce for a long time

    +++++++++

when i mentioned that i found artefacts in extramaterial using cce where no artefacts occured when using procoder2 i meant it this way:

in that very instance (star wars bonus dvd) cce simply did a poor job because the total amount of data that had to be reduced was very high

the fact that i found artefacts in some extramaterial was sort of coincidal - it could have occured in the bonus or main movie just as well

cce simply is not as good as other encoders when it comes to low/very low bitrates

you might want to check the following pages:

          doom9's

          afterdawn
When I wanted to configure DVD RB, Doom 9 says I have to set the CCE path to "EclCCE.exe".
But Afterdawn sets the path to "cct2.exe".

So what should I do now... :-s?

well, i have not seen a "cct2.exe" but that doesnt mean there is no such thing

*ccespt.exe* would be the name of the trial version and if "ccet2.exe" should refer to a version 270 then both (doom9 + afterdawn) are correct ^_~

cce version from 2.50 - 2.6x require to be used via eclcce
cce version 270 MUST be addressed directly

but like i said: install your encoder(s) first and then use the rockas installer version of dvd rebuilder - it should normally search for the corresponding encoders

good luck and dont hesitate to ask should you face further problems
