    "-- cooling is very important
-- the ram is an extremely important factor when it comes to oc'ing"
the first don't give me problems,i have enormeous coolers and 512mb ram(seems not so bad size)

"the freeware edition of rebuilder will let you use OPV with cce but NOT with hc"
then i will stay with CCE

    thank you so much.

like so often in life - size doenst always matter; the quality behind it is decisive

      ^_~

some ram modules will lead to crashes when oc'ed others will handle it better/just fine

Ok guys, here is what I have done so far.

I researched on the error I got (should have pasted that in first post):

              STOP: 0xc000021a {Fatal System Error}

The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x<VAR>00000080</VAR> (0x<VAR>00000000</VAR> 0x<VAR>00000000</VAR>)

              The system has been shutdown.
Couldn't find any solutions except have my system updated to the latest patches (XP Pro sp1), which I have done and uninstall GoBack which I don't have.

I took apart the case on my computer and cleaned all the dust out of it (it's crazy how much dust can be in there after 1 year). The temp of the computer is running at 46-47c.

I cleaned many gigs of useless stuff off my hard drive. And with that I scandisked and defragged my computer.

I don't have any XP restore points because I don't believe in them. I've been without them all my computer using life and I don't want to start using them now. And a full system re-installation isn't something I would want to do. There has to be another way of fixing it. I've been told to do a format too many times to issues which I have fixed a couple days later.

I don't know what else to do. I've re-ripped the DVD onto my computer, didn't change anything about it (except for running it through PGCedit to get rid of the random streams).

Although it is the same error message, it says it is for Windows NT 4.0. It's safe to just put the dll in C:\Windows\System32 folder instead of C:\WINNT\System32?

EDIT: I found MSVCRT.dll on the net and put it in my System32 folder (creating a backup of course). I did a test run and so far it worked perfectly. The only problem being I couldn't surf the net. Every time I opened my browser (any browser for that matter) and pressed enter to go to a site, it just closed on me. So maybe I just need the right DLL. This is the version I have on my computer: 7.0.2600.1106 (xpsp1.020828-1920). The version of the one I downloaded can be seen on the site.

I know this has strayed from DVD-RB but if anyone has the right version DLL could you please provide a link to it? I am pretty sure this is the culprit! Thank you.

                    Keep it simple.

Go to a computer of a friend that's working OK.

Take the DLL('s) form his/her directory and copy it to yours.

                    Ready.........

(Don't make live more difficult as it is).

Also learn to make make backups, as you see, it can usefull.......

                    Antoine
And then there was Blue Ray........ Nothing to backup anymore......

Thanks guys for the help. Very old thread I know. But I have upgraded my computer not so long ago (1.5gb ram, 200gb of HDD). DVD-RB is working great!

EDIT: Just saw this in the changelog of HCenc 0.17: memory error bug fixed. Maybe?
