Has anyone ever tried 3 into 1 ?

I started out with three titles in shrinks re-authoring totaling 6,626MB.
After the shrink re-authoring I used DVD RB to bring the compression down to 4464MB.

The back up came out very grainy and box pixilated, so what can I use to improve the quality of the back up file I have now or what should I have done differently from the beginning?

What was the total time of the three titles?
What media did you burn to?
Did you follow the "Golden Rules of Burning?"

3 DVD into 1 becomes too much data for a 4.38 GB space.

Alternatively you can use a different matrix like Notch and MP2 sound instead of AC3 and encode from the start.

Although anything above 5 hrs might cause blockiness (but depends on resolution and source).

dont seriously try to put three titles on one dvd5 - you cannot expect anything close to decent quality when doing so

Did not note the total time

          Media is Ridata G05 8X
          The titles are
          Michael Jackson History part 1 and history part 2 A & B

If I ran the DVD RB back up - back through DVD RB with two passes would the quality improve?

The total of all the titles are 3hrs 17mins. Can you explain or link me to Notch and mp2 sound?

it's probably that G05 media and your burn speed

is the file grainy when played off hard drive?

I agree, I compile more then that and still get good quality

Try DIKO, its much simpler to use and better on low bitrates, it also uses a variant of notch. Use DIKO with HC Encoder and dont use DVD Shrink before.

                  I hope this helps.

Using Nero Showtime the playback is grainy but not as bad as the burnt copy.
Burn speed in shrink with max smooth is 2.4X

after you use dvd-rb, did you have to go back and use shrink or nero to creat iso file? I think I like pgcedit to creat iso insteed

I downloaded the program and I can only open up AVI files. The DVD D rip files are on the hard drive and I have to find out how to convert to AVI...

no... but that is worth a try too ( after Diko )

with a long running time you might want to use half D1 with rebuilder in order to reduce the amount of pixel and by doing so increase the bitrate per pixel relation in order to achieve a more or less decent bitrate saturation

you want me to check "Half D1 & Half space for extras" right???

anything else that needs to be checked in DVD RB????
