Can I just do the Rebuild step?

I just finished rebuilding a movie (RBpro 1.08+HCenc 017/ TargetSectors 2325000) but came a bit larger than expected (4.48mb). Can I rebuild it again "after changing the TargetSectors settings" by going thru step 3 (Rebuild) only, or do I have to go thru the entire process again?
By the way, TargetSectors 2325000 using HCenc. 016, gave me 4.37mb constantly.

You need to run it again.

Just run it throgh DVD Shrink. The diff in quality will be irrelevant. Or, if you can, shrink the menus with MenuShrink.

Not sure if it's only me. But I have some times tried that and ended up with some pixelations in the output from DVD Shrink.

It's a waste of time to do it again. For future reference, make target sectors 2265000.

conair,sometimes i have "mad ideas",look what i do when i have little oversize without re-encode all again,read this hint: http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...06&postcount=8
you can do that with the credits,menus and extras if needed!

Thanks, it seems a bit unorthodox but makes sense. Unfortunately I know nothing about vdub and how to use it. Any suggestions where to find and learn the use of it for future need?

I messed w/TargetSectors and ended-up w/a slightly too-big file once. My burning software, RecordNow 7.3, allowed me to slightly overburn the disc and it tested and works great.

But I'm back to using default TS and not worrying about the ~50Mb breathing room it leaves.

Good idea. The default is there for a reason...

If you use a TargetSectors of 2325000 you are telling DVD-RB that you want to create an output that is 4.50GB (assuming perfect sizing by the encoder). That's a bad thing considering the fact that your disc will only hold 4.37GB.
