just came from reading a few posts on two other forums, posts that put Nero Recode2 as the best transcoder there is. some of the posts even speak of Recode2 as giving better quality output than Rebuilder. i don't agree on the Rebuilder part but, i do agree Recode2 is better(in terms of the quality that produces)than all of the transcoders outthere. Since i have seen the tests you have done around here, can you do a test on Recode2?. and how it compares agains Rebuilder and other transcoders.

    thanks.

thanks. either nero 6 or 7 would do, they are the same recode2.
if you can, not only compare it with Rebuilder but also with transcoders. thanks again.

I find there is very little difference between Shrink and Recode. Recode has a high quality mode which is the same as the sharp AEC setting of Shrink.

The only difference I saw was that Recode was about 20% faster.

I did a test on HP Goblet of fire using Dvdshrink, nero recode2 and dvd rebuilder (I use cce sp 2.5). Dvdshrink and recode were about the same time on my system. IMO recode was a little better quality than recode. In some past posts I stated that I couldn't see any real difference between shrink and rebuilder. I did with this movie. Dvdrebuilder was IMO better. CCE encoding IMO seemed to give a warmer picture and the quality was good. IIRC the bitrate was max 3887 Kbps/average 3500 Kbps ?/ min 300 Kbps app. IMO that's a low bitrate for full D1 but the results were good. If I still had the end products of each on my pc I would cut a bmp of each and enlarge it and post the results. Each of the 3 burnt dvd's I evaluated on my 61" widescreen. I watched app. 10-12 minutes of the beginning of each.
