DVD-RB free edition - matrices and vbr bias Q's

also, is there anyway to set the VBR bias for HC Encoder with the free edition of DVD-RB?

i found out how to set the vbr bias, but i guess using matrices is a no go.

ive decided to get the pro version.

i now have a question about filters. in the sticky above in the Filters thread, UncasMS used the undot and fluxsmooth filters, and when he added them, he included the location of the dll's. is this necessary, or can you just put:
Undot()
FluxSmooth(x,7)
in the AVS Editor? i didnt have the fluxsmooth25 filter in my plugins folder, but i added it myself.

also, how do you know if the filters are actually working. i can tell something is different, as the speed of the encoding went down from 3.9'ish to about 2.4'ish. do filters make the encoding time take longer? id still like to know a sure way to find out if the filters are working, though.

The filters increase the encoding time, yes.

To see if they are working, encode a small segment - you might like to use RME by rockas for this purpose.

Yes you can do it that way as long as the plugins you are going to use are in the avisynth plugin folder .I should mention that I couldn't get it to work I always had to add the load plugin

Depends on the filter some take more time then others.To tell if the plugins are on it will say avs enabled or like you said you will see your speed drop down some

so let me get something straight about the fluxsmooth filter. the highest value (10,15) will smoothen the picture the most, but remove the most noise compared to the lowest value (5,7) right?
