I've been waiting for a new release. This should be good! Updated encoding engine - does this mean better quality? I'll have to learn how to use the pull down feature.
EDIT: There are some folders in the .zip. What do we do with the DGDecode and Matrix? Just put the matrix in the matrix folder in the DVD-RB folder?
EDIT 2: On second thought, how do we turn on Adaptive Matrix and use the Pull Down?Last edited by linx05; 30 Apr 2006, 05:25 PM.Comment

I would like to know that as well from the time I had DVD-RB both free and Pro I can't figure out how to get DGdecode to work
EDIT 2: On second thought, how do we turn on Adaptive Matrix and use the Pull Down?Last edited by BR7; 30 Apr 2006, 06:11 PM.Comment

Simply extract HCenc_018.exe and rename it to HCbatch.exe
Copy that file over the exisitng HCbatch.exe in the Encoders/HC Encoder subfolder of DVD Rebuilder.
Note: Do NOT use the DGDecode versions in the zip file with DVD Rebuilder. Only use the version sent to you in the DVD Rebuilder installer.

I did all thatI have the same questions as linx does

See above for my comment on DGDecode.
As for the matrices, you can pop them in the Matrix sub-folder of DVD Rebuilder, if you wish. That way, they will always be available from the Options tab - Advanced (Expert Options) - Quant Matrices
I haven't experimented with the pulldown and adaptive yet. But that might be something you can do by running it in GUI mode in its own folder (as opposed to being a part of DVD Rebuilder, which relies on AVI Synth scripts to run.
EDIT: Read the manual (page 12) re adaptive.

i put the files to a new folder and set the path to the latest hc018.exe
i dont want to rename the files for a better overview of the different versions
+++++++++++++
here is a comparison 018 vs 017:

In the HC017 version I would input the d2v file created by dgmpgd 1.4.5 (DGIndex 1.4.5) and it would create the m2v file just fine.
But anything newer like the d2v file created by dgmpgd 1.4.7 b6 (DGIndex 1.4.7b6) and the HC017 program would not except the d2v file, something about file format was not correct.
Is the latest HC018 going to accept the d2v file created by DGIndex 1.4.7?

The new DVD Rebuilder is out and the installer incorporates HC018. Just use the full installer and you'll install it right.
