    What did I do wrong?

    Hi folks,

Using RipIt4me (1 click mode) to rip Silent Hill (Movie and Menu only) OK then got the error when using RB pro 1.10.5 to encode the movie. I completed uninstall RB pro and AviSys programs then reinstall both of them. No luck get the same error.

    This a log I hope

Not 100% sure, but it appears that either HC isn't setup right or those 2 segments are not ripped correctly.

I'm reasonably sure that you need not convert to yuy2 with HC either.

HC needs YV12 input. But it should do the conversion after your filters.

It's hard to say what may be the problem with all those filters... if you open the AVS file for V010001XXXXXXXX.AVS will it play in Windows Media Player?

I definitely don't get the logic of "Steal Space from Extras (50%)" on a "Movie and Menus Only" encode. There will be no extras to reduce...

First of all thank you for replying my question.

I'm kind of beginner so a lot of thing I did I picked up pieces from the forum

I followed the suggestion but it did not work so finally I figured out (not really, kind of shooting in the dark and luckly it hits the target). I uninstalled RB pro and Avisys then deleted their folders in the program files directory. After that I reinstall RB pro then it starts working.

I ran into another problems with 1.10.5 version. I'm using HC encoder with DVD-5 selection and my ISO file is 4.66 meg. I did not have this problem with 1.10.3. Should I add TargetSectors=2236400 in the ini file?

        Again ty for your help.

That's the same size it would be without an entry.

The sizing algorithm hasn't changed between v1.10.3 and v1.10.5

If you add TargetSectors, you do run the risk of oversize. It comes out very close to 4.32 without it. But if you wanna live a bit dangerously, use the beta preview after doing a prep to "oversize" a fraction.

Don't blame anyone if it comes out too high though.

And stealing some of jdobbs' thunder, it is like measuring the increase in the level of the ocean after you've added a glass of water.

In that case what do I can to reduce the final ISO file's size to comply with DVD-5?

Start slow and work your way into those kinds of setings. Different settings (matrices for example) can have an effect on size. I would suggest you remove all the filters, set everything to default, and try again.

The default settings in DVD-RB are optimized to give you the best quality on the vast majority of discs. In your example you have an average bitrate of 3,845 -- but you're using a "Low Bitrate" matrix. You are using undot, deen, and fluxsmooth (which should only be used to clean up a dirty source). Adjusting levels is unnecessary except under special circumstances. Doing all these things at the same time might be unpredictable.

Oversizing is very rare when doing two pass encoding... in fact I don't think I've ever had an oversize.

I tested couple times with different setting but the outcome ot the ISO file is still consistent 4.66 GB. Finally I added TargetSectors=2175000 line in the ini file and ISO file is about 4.55 GB now (TargetSectors=2175000, I did not figured it out. I saw someone mentioned it in the forum) .

Anyway DVD-RB is wonderful software. Thanks for sharing with us.
