AVI has sound, when converted no sound??

    Hi there,
I have an avi file that I converted to mpg using TMPGEnc. The AVI plays fine but when converted there is no sound. DirectShow Multimedia File Reader is the top priority and gspot finds all the correct codecs.
I've converted a ton of AVI's to MPG and have never had this happen before. Any ideas on how to retrieve the sound?

    Cheers & Thanks

what type of audio does the avi have? AC3, mpeg-layer 3, or other?

this method will satisfy TMPGEnc, it's very simple so you should have no trouble
Talk about the TMPGEnc line of software, including TMPGEnc Express, MPEG Editor and TMPGEnc DVD Author

thread moved to the TMPGEnc forum.
