How do you use the AC3 in TMPGEnc DVD Author? I've been converting .avi files and I think I've been correctly following LT's guide (without which I'd still be in the middle of nowhere) and I can't remember seeing anything about AC3 in the authoring.
I ask because not all conversions have been perfect and I was wondering if this might be the cause.
    it's there

under "Authoring with TMPGenc DVD Author"

couple screenshots down in colored, bolded text.

note: you'll likely have to "fix" the AC3 file with AC3fix or besliced. (see links at top of guide)

    good luck

You're perfectly right LT! (as usual). I just didn't pay enough attention.

One more question: what if I have an mp3 audio file instead of an AC3?
Do I convert the mp3 to wav, run the wav in in TMPGEnc, convert it again to AC3 and use the AC3 in TMPGenc DVD Author? If so, do I still need need to fix the AC3 headers?

      Actually, that's more than one!

well for me no, TMPGEnc accepts mpeg layer 3 audio just fine and i just use the audio from the mpg file it makes, but if it errs then the rest of what you said will work.

I'll give it a try and as soon as I have some results I'll post.
