    TMPGenc audio delay after conversion

    Hi!

I have this batch of files that I'm thinking of making a DVD off. However as I was about to make the DVD, (finished converting, authoring and already made an image) I first tried it on my pc and noticed that I was having an audio delay of about 1-2secs. I immediately checked the original file if it has an audio delay but the original file is working perfect. I just assumed that it has some problem with the cpu process that caused the delay and decided to just redo the conversion.

I scheduled the conversion around midnight and left TMPGenc running. I checked it around morning and still saw the delay. What gives? This is the first time I've had delays after conversion. I was thinking of maybe of the file size but I've converted larger files before and they didn't have any delay.

How can I fix this? Thanks!

the original can be fine but encode with delay if there are bad frames. see the audio correction at the end of the guide in the FAQ

gap is same at any point of clip?

always check the audio of the mpg after TMPGEnc finishes before moving on to other steps. golden rule.

Hi! I was able to convert said files, but I'm encountering the same problem on to some files again.

It seems that no matter how much I adjust the time delay, there's always a time lag of 1.5 secs in my video. I tried demuxing it and the outcome is still the same. How can I fix this? Thanks!

Are the durations the same for both audio and video?

There are two problems with synch...

        1) Constant throughout the video
        2) Synch changes during the video

If setting an audio delay doesn't work...Try loading the avi in VirtualDub and keep direct source for video, but on audio, there is an option I believe in interlacing that allows the audio to map to the duration in the video...that has fixed a few of my problems on 2) above.

How can Virtualdub help? The original files DO NOT have any A-V sync problem(according to Shadowofthedark). The delay is coming only after conversion in TMPGEnc.
BTW,Shadow, does the original file(if it is avi) have vbr audio?

              Use Mediainfo(in Tree view).

Nope, its in cbr. What do I do next? Another thing, I tried putting a large value in the delay, about -5100 to see if it would offset the delay, but it still came out lagging by 2+ secs. This avi file is insane!
