Can i burn svcd on dvd-r(w)

A normal cd-r is so small to burn a high-quality svcd on!
Can i burn scvd format on a dvd-r(w) so i can fill 4,5 gb and like 4 hours of movie and if so will it play on a stand-alone dvd-player?

Ulead video refuses to burn svcd on my dvd-rw, when i convert it to dvd it works but then i only can burn 120 minutes on the dvd and it's a waste of data cause the quality isn't going to be better.

It is possible to burn svcd's/vcd's on a dvd-r/rw but you have to make sure that your standalone dvd player can play dvd-r and dvd-vcd/svcd copies. Most dvd's can play vcd's but dvd-svcd's are more rare, make sure to check your dvd manual for info, or check out this this page for information on specific dvd players which can play different formats.

"Thanks for the help" no problem I have never burned a dvd-svcd so i wouldnt know how, but this page gives a complete step-by-step guide. Let me know if it works

As for XSVCD, it stands for eXtendedSVCD. XSVCD has same features as SVCD but it is possible to use higher bitrates and higher resolution to get higher video quality. XSVCD is basicly everything that uses MPEG2 video, is not within the SVCD standard and burnt in "SVCD" mode.

BAD interface
GOOD simpleness
BAD evaluation copy
GOOD converting (fast)
BAD results

Conclusion: I can do the same stuff with other programs, THAT ARE FREE.
