VCD won't stop after playback

Hi all!

I have made a VCD in very good quality with Nero 5.5.8.
TMPGenc to convert avi to mpg (14 hours for ONE hours movie!!)
PC is 667MHz, 512 MB RAM.

The problem: after playing back the movie, my standalone VCDplayer won't stop turning and the end.
It keeps searching around on the CD as of the end is not found.

Did anyone encountered this problem before?
Maybe I should change the settings in Nero, how?

q2: Which codec is faster than Cinepak but has the comparable quality ?

Do you experience the same problem playing the burned VCD on your computer's CD player/burner?

The movie I made which couldn't stop was 62min. long.

My new test movie of 5 min. does stopped when it finished.
I have used the same configuration and setting as the 'long' movie. One different, the codec I used was MS mpg4 v2

Is the length the problem?

I have no tool on My PC to play VCD. So I did not try.
On a borrowed DVD no problem, it stopped when finished.

What are the settings I,P and matrix stuff in 'experts' for?
What do they mean and what is the optimal setting voor VCD and SVCD?
I always only use the filters 'reduce noise' and 'reduce ghost'
What do you suggest, guru?
The quality is high or highest. (does it mind?)

Sure you do. Open Windows Media Player. From the VCD directory named "MPEGAV", simply "drag and drop" the file named "AVSEQ001.DAT" onto the Media Player and it will start to play.

Sure I know this, but this is not the same situation as on a stand alone VCD player.
I had PowerVCD, a SW to play VCD on PC, but I have lost it.

It is also not honest to judge the quality of the VCD movie on a PC screen. By the way, the movie shown on a (good) TV is not
as 'blocky' as on a PC-screen. This sounds stupid , but it is so in my case.
My purpose is to distribute my VCDs to end users who own VCD-players or DVD-players.

How about my question about the TMPGenc settings in my last post?
I use Premiere for editing, if familiar for you, what codec do you prefer? What are the settings you also prefer in Premiere?

I am very well aware of this. However, this was not my purpose in asking if the burned VCD played on your computer.

I wanted you to determine if the VCD STOPPED properly when played on the computer, or if it exhibited the same problem you had when playing it on a standalone player...

I have tried the VCD on my PC CD-ROM player.
(setarip, happy now? )
It stops at the end, after playing back.
Perhaps my standalone VCD player does not accept that length.
