Hello everyone i've been lurking this board for awhile now.


Here's my Situation.

If you know where to look online you can download very high quality movies. Compressed to extremly small sizes. (example 2 hours of movie at 352-248 29 frames per second resolution 699 meg.)

The movies are Divx 5.02 thats a no brainer. Virtual Dubs Statiscs on the file are as follows

Frame Size = 352X288 25.00 FPS 40,000 US (looks like US)
# of Frames = 175639
Decompresser = Divxs 5.02
Key Frames 1

Audio
44.1 hz
channels 2
samples precision 0-bit
compression faunhous mp3
preload skew 5991
# of frames 176002

Now i've cut it with 3 diffrent programs. Assuming maybe the error was in the cut but to no avail. I've used Avichop, to nandub and some other program. Cutting was a success. Now we attempt to encode to mpg after of course converting the audio to pcm. Every attempt to encode and burn (nero) encode avi2vcd, Tmpg All end with a failure or a locked up computer.

Any Ideas?

You might try first resaving the original file, in VirtualDub, selecting the DivX v.3.11 codec...
