Windows Media Audio V2 = no sound

OK - this is the sticking point. I'm trying to encode a VCD but my avi has the Windows Media Audio V2 format. I've tried a few programs (including TMPEnc), but nothing has worked thus far, and my mpg ends up soundless.

Anyone know a program that can deal with this audio format?

Try encoding the audio separate with GoldWave. I don't know if the audio stream you have is supported by GoldWave but it does recognize a lot.
