    DVD to SVCD infinite problems

Had to copy Apocalypse Now: Redux (3:13 hours!) with Hebrew Subtitles, and put it inside 3 700mb SVCDs.

First, I've used DVDx 2.0. Set up settings to DivX 5.0.2 in case to convert to MPEG-2 using TMPGenc. I've got a 2000mb (the size I've set up) movie which is blurry, worse quality, green colors running on it, and you can't see anything. Deleted it, ofcourse.

Secondly, I've tried DVD2SVCD. It went till the level of TMPGenc, then virtually "stopped" converting and said it will take another 40-70 hours. Tried to use FlaskMPEG, but somehow it didn't let me run the conversion. I hate CCE.

Third time, I've tried XviD inside DVDx. It ended up with a 250mb non-playable file.

So dammit, how the hell do I get this ****in' long movie into 3 disks?!!!!!

Try Dvd2avi and then convert it using TMPGEnc.

"Set up settings to DivX 5.0.2"

This is probably the root of your TMPGEnc problems. Try using good old DivX v.3.11alpha instead...

(By the way, you should more realistically hink FOUR CD-Rs rather than three)

Yes, Setarip is right. On 700MB CD you can put about 35min of high quality SVCD or 60min low quality SVCD. So you realy should think about using at least 4 CDs for an SVCD movie of 3h13min.
This is in case you want to watch it on a standalone player. If not, you should use DivX and you will be able to put it on 2 CDs with the same quality as your SVCD.
