    Obtain the following two tools - and read the documentation:

    TMPGEnc for converting .AVI to VCD-format MPEG1

    NERO Burning ROM for burning a VDC-compliant CD

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      now i want to burn the mpg file with nero but the program says its not a vailed format, i checked out the vcdhelp and did everything the manual said but still it gives me the same error.

        When you use TMPGEnc to convert the .AVI file you have to click on the "Settings" radio button, select the "System" tab and select "MPEG 1 - Video CD" not merely "MPEG 1".

            Is it possible that you mistakenly tried to drop the .AVI file into the NERO VCD-burning setup - instead of the VCD-formatted MPEG that you created with TMPGEnc?
