Switch code-packs?

I've got a movie which I want to encode from Div-X to SVCD. First of all. Can you check a SVCD before you write it on a CD? I mean, can you watch it on your PC? Second, virtualdub says this movie is encoded with Div-X MPEG-4 low motion. Do I need to install this particular code pack to get the best results?? And what does low-motion means. I've seen fast-motion, is it better? How do you choose between encoding (to SVCD) if it is low- or fast-motion??

Before you've burned it to CD-R, you'll have an MPEG file in MPEG2-SuperVideoCD format. You should be able to play such a file under a software DVD player (WinDVD, Power DVD, etc.)...

Thnx! It worked. But how about my other problems? Can you help me out? And here's an other one: How can you see if it is worth it encoding in SVCD. I mean, if the avi file is not that good you can also encode in VCD, but where's the border. Can you check that. (Maybe virtual dub movie info or something)

Still my other questions aren't answered

That's merely one of the two options under the DivX v.3.11alpha codec. If you can play the .AVI, you've already got the required codec installed. This should in no way interfere with conversion to SVCD...
