      I believe I've only been confronted with this once (and it was quite some time ago). I believe (if memory serves me correctly) that if you select "NTSC" under both "Video" and "Advanced" and set 23.976Fps under "Video", you'll get acceptable results.

      However, just to be on the safe side, as I always suggest in the realm of experimentation - test this concept out by using a smallish portion of video. In this case, I'd suggest about 1/2 hour's video, so that you'll notice if it (perish the thought) gradually desynchronizes.

      Let us know of your success ;>}

        Sweet! I had a 25frame/second avi file, about 25mins. long, and it converted to NTSC no problem
        But as for the NTSC and PAL regions, most dvd standalones have region-free hacks on them right? So that if i have a vcd in PAL i can play it in an NTSC player with no problems?

          I'm glad to hear that my memory wasn't faulty ;;>} Congratulations on your success!

          Many standalones (I don't know about most, or about hacks) have the ability to properly output/display multiple formats on your television...
