    Problem Creating a VCD

    Hi Everyone!

    Windows XP

I am trying to create a VCD using Easy CD Creator 5.1. I get an error:
An attempt to write the custom headers to the CD image file Home.CIF failed.

These are the steps I used in creating the mpeg.

    1. Used ATI Multimedia Center 7.6 to capture a home made movie from a VCR to a VCD file Home.MPG.
    2. The problem is the Home.MPG file is 91 minutes in length.
    3. I used TMPGENC 2.59, the freeware version, to cut it down to below 80 minutes.
    4. I used Easy CD Creator 5.1 to create the VCD image file. Then I was going to burn it if all was successful.

Has anybody had this problem before? Any solutions?

    Thank you for listening!

If you have easy cd creator 5.1, then upgrade to the new version here If it still doesnt work after that, then try burning the vcd with nero burning rom.
Did you know you can SEARCH the forum? Fixes common problems too:

"3. I used TMPGENC 2.59, the freeware version, to cut it down to below 80 minutes."

When you performed this activity, using TMPGE's MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut, did you remember to set the mode to "MPEG1-VideoCD (NOT the default "plain vanilla" MPEG1)?

Thank you, setarip, for the heads up on the default settings. I am using the TMPGENC's wizard, and I guess that is probably my problem. I'll have to try editting the mpg without the wizard. I'll have to get the "how to" on that and try it. I'll try it this evening.

        Thank you!

No conside the size of file.

If you use easympeg3,it can segment your mpeg file to more than one VCD(or SVCD) disc automatically without you cut it yourself.and you also can use it's Real-Time Editor to do it.
