    XVCD / 4parts don't fit on 1 cd

    hi

I have 4 Avi-files and encoded them with TmpgEnc(latest version) and used 160kbsPhenosXVideoCDPAL.mcf and just changed
motion search precision to Highest Quality
video arrange mode to full screen(keep aspect ratio)
    and streamtype to mpeg1-video-cd(non standard)

these 4 mpg files do not fit to one 700MB disc...
I am pretty sure that it would fit to one cd if I would merge the avi files before encoding but I need the starting points...

    hope some1 can help me
    thx in advance and
    cya

For merging avi files, Virtualdub/Nandub or any Virtualdub mod may be useful, read the merging "article" at divx-digest.com

I am able to do that already but I do not want to do it because after encoding and burning I would have 1 track on the cd; I want to be able to choose between these 4 episodes

I hope my problem has become a little bit clearer

(I apologize for my bad english, I am way to tired to write...)

Remember that burning vcd's in done according to time, so if i understand what youre trying to do (add 4 episodes on 1 disc) you probably have to add a few seconds between each episode. And then burn the files normally with nero, where you can select the time between each file. Try cutting your files and remove, say, the credits if you really want to fit those 4 episodes on 1 disc. By the way, what length is each file?

          hi
all files are between 43 and 45 minutes
          altogether less than 180minutes
besides I have done that 2month ago and it worked..I do not know whats different this time...
          do you know this script?
I am not sure if the 160kbsPhenosXVideoCDPAL.mcf script is correct, should I use the 180kbsPhenosXVideoCDPAL.mcf script?

            "altogether less than 180minutes"

There's no way you can fit that amount of time on less than two CDs - unless you make the video resolution microscopic...

I did it 4 or 5 times and a friend of mine did it 40 to 50 times,
the quality has always been ok, not SVCD-style but not worse than TV

I just cannot remember how we did it (I can not reach the friend)

"-> thx for the link" No Problem Be sure to get the different KVCD templates they have.

well, it just didn't work out...(to large)
isn't it possible to merge the avi files and then to create a list for the DVD player where the last 3 parts are starting??

It IS possible to merge the avi files, but i dont understand how that will help apart from having one huge episode.

"create a list for the DVD player where the last 3 parts are starting??" WHat do you mean by this?

I mean that you should be able to create a list of entry points for playback.
                          sth. like:
                          track 1 0:00:00
                          track 2 43:00:00
                          track 3 86:05:00
                          track 4 130:00:40

Well, in Nero, simply put a pause after each track (can be minutes, seconds) and estimate about where it will start.

I thaought that the total amount of data would be smaller if there is only one file..and therefore I asked for a solution to the problem that I want to start every episode(I thought a track#-frame list would solve the problem, even if I do not know if my expectation regarding the filesize(s) are true)
