i need help really bad

i download movies alot off of morpheus and i use nero to make them into vcd but half the time it wont work most are avi files
i downloaded tmpge but i dont quiet understand it i even got the nicky pages and still dont get it i tried to use it but it told me that the movie is not supported is there any easy way to make a good quality vcd someone please help me make a vcd please.
